John Lamy grew up in a small Midwestern town, alongside his two younger brothers with whom he remains close. A curious and inventive child, he spent his youth building ham radios, hi-fi systems, and other projects that sparked a lifelong passion for engineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He went on to earn a degree in Electrical Engineering from MIT and built a 30-year career in Silicon Valley, serving as an engineering manager in R&D and later as a divisional quality manager. Midway through his career, John earned an MBA from Cornell and transitioned into management consulting, where he spent 15 years advising organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
John and his wife, Gail, have been married for over 50 years. Together, they raised a son and now take great pride in their grandson, currently in college. As a family, they have shared countless adventures\u2014backpacking, skiing, sailing, kayaking, and cycling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For decades, John has been deeply engaged in climate activism.
